What We Do

creating a legacy

The summer camp experience in America has traditionally been reserved for wealthy, white families.

operating a summer camp can be expensive, which can in turn impact the cost of participation. On top of that, going to camp is often a family tradition, with young campers hearing about all the good times their parent or other family members have had at summer camp in the past. Not to mention the immense racial barriers that have limited access to camping and the outdoors for the Black community over the years.

However, we believe that the overnight camp experience is extremely beneficial in promoting healthy relationships, encouraging an adventurous spirit, and increasing independence and therefore should be available to all kids regardless of race and/or socioeconomic backgrounds.

Our aim is to create that experience specifically for Black youth in Northern California! We are still in the early stages of planning, marketing, and funding so any support helps to make this dream become a reality.
